Q: What makes Mineral Basics unique?
A: Health Freedom Nutrition's formula does not contain iron.
Because very little iron is excreted from the body, there is a serious risk of iron overload. When normal storage sites are full, iron is stored in the body tissues and organs. Too much iron is very toxic to the body and can lead to organ damage. Research also suggests that iron can stimulate the activity of free radicals, which in turn can lead to cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, iron also contributes to the oxidation of LDL or "bad cholesterol".
Q: Who should use Mineral Basics?
A: Minerals are vital to all bodily functions and can have a strong impact on cardiovascular health. Because the chelation process rids the body of heavy metals, anyone taking CardioClear®, or any form of chelation, should consider supplementing their diet with Mineral Basics to maintain optimal mineral balance.
Q: Do you have to take Mineral Basics with the CardioClear™?
A: It has been specifically formulated to take in conjunction with CardioClear. If you are not taking another mineral supplement, it is advised that you take Mineral Basics with CardioClear.

A lesson learned from
an old-time dentist
Dr. Weston Price's bestseller from 1939 still
makes nutritional sense.
Have you ever heard of Weston Price,
DDS? Not many people have, but to
people like me in the nutrition industry,
Weston Price is a hero. Let me tell
you why...
More than 70 years ago, in 1939,
Weston Price published a book called
Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. And
while you might think a nutrition book
from the 1930s might be sorely out of
date and long out of print, this one is
not. In fact, the latest edition, (its 15th
printing!) was published by his estate in
2003.
So just what nutrition wisdom was Dr.
Price able to write about back in 1939
that still holds true today? I'll tell you in
moment, but first let me tell you about
Dr. Price.
Dr. Price was a Cleveland dentist who
was dismayed by the tooth decay and
overall poor health of both the adults
and children he saw in his practice.
He suspected poor diet was the reason
behind what he was seeing, and he hit
upon a novel idea. He would travel to
various parts of the world where the
inhabitants had no contact with "civilization"
to study their health and physical
development. His trip took him around
the globe. He studied Eskimos in
Canada and Aborigines in Australia. He
met Indians in the Amazon and tribesmen
in Africa, and he studied their diets
and photographed the people.
What he found, and wrote about in his
book, earned him the nickname "The
Charles Darwin of Nutrition." And, like
Charles Darwin, his theories live on well
past his death in 1948.
Now what did Dr. Price write about in
Nutrition and Physical Degeneration? He
found that virtually every individual in
every isolated region he visited exhibited
genuine health and physical perfection.
What's more, he found them free of
physical degeneration, the term he used
for sickness and disease. And he attributed
this health and well-being to their
physically demanding lifestyles (exercise)
and a diet free of sugar, refined grains,
canned foods, and devitalized fats and
oils—what he himself called the "displacing
foods of modern commerce."
Instead, the people he visited ate native
diets that followed nature—fruits,
grains, fish, meat and eggs. He found the
mineral content in the native diets to be
four times as high as what his Cleveland
patients were eating. And the fat-soluble
vitamins, the ones found in milk, butter,
meat and fish were ten times as high.
So what does this all mean? What can
we learn from a long dead dentist? I'll
tell you what I've learned...
I've learned that my mother was right
when she said, "you are what you eat." If
you eat foods devoid of nutritional value,
your body will be devoid of nutrients
and you WILL get sick.
I've also learned that, because our modern
foodstuffs are even worse than those
in Dr. Price's time, supplementation is
critical, particularly for minerals.
So if you ever wondered who inspired
the creation of Mineral Basics, one of
the very first products we sold here at
Health Freedom Nutrition, you now
know it was a Cleveland dentist named
Dr. Weston Price.
