Q: What is Resveratrol Red Wine?
A: Resveratrol is a compound found in a variety of plants including cranberries, raspberries, peanuts, pine trees, and Vitis vinifera and labrusca grapes. The primary dietary sources in an average person's diet are peanuts, peanut butter, grapes and wine. The compound is particularly concentrated in red wines such as pinot noir. Resveratrol is produced in the grape skin as an antibiotic response to a bacterial infection that affects the plant.
Resveratrol is classified as a polyphenol because of its chemical structure. Polyphenols make up a huge group of plant compounds that are further broken down into other classifications such as flavonoids and proanthocyanidins, both of which are antioxidants. Resveratrol is also a phytoestrogen, a substance that mimics some of the effects of estrogen, while blocking others.
Q: Why is there only 10mg of trans-resveratrol in Resveratrol Red Wine?
A: This Resveratrol Red Wine formula combines red wine polyphenols with a realistic amount of 10 mg of trans-resveratrol. This amount is much closer to what the people who partake in the "Mediterranean Diet" actually consume.
This realistic amount was chosen in response to the many resveratrol products on the market today that contain 300 mg, 500 mg, even 1000 mg of trans-resveratrol. These products claim to be "equal to 100, 200, and even 500 glasses of wine!" People typically drink a few glasses of wine, or maybe a bottle, but no one drinks 100 bottles.
Q: Who should take Resveratrol Red Wine?
A: Anyone looking to enjoy the anti-aging health benefits associated with the "Mediterranean Diet" should consider adding the powerful antioxidant supplement Resveratrol Red Wine to their diet.
Q: Why is there pterostilbene in this formula?
A: Pterostilbene is polyphenol that occurs naturally in blueberries. Some people say pterostilbene is the next generation of resveratrol because of its superior biological activity and better oral bioavailability.

The Real Truth About Resveratrol
Let's cut through all the hype and look at the facts!
When I first started in the supplement business nearly 30 years ago, anti-aging compounds were the "holy grail" and every company wanted to be the first to put together a supplement that could truly slow the aging process and help people live longer.
Well, as you and I both know, there is no single solution to normal aging and if anyone tries to sell you a supplement that will allow you to "live forever," you need to run the other way—and fast!
So you can imagine my skepticism when about 10 years ago Resveratrol—a substance found in red wine and grape skin—became all the rage.
The anti-aging health claims some companies made about Resveratrol were just too good to be true. Things like "Live to be 150 Years Old!" and "Reverse The Aging Process!" And of course, as it turns out, these claims aren't true.
But the real truth about Resveratrol, what we know from scientific studies, is that Resveratrol mimics caloric restriction, and caloric restriction has been repeatedly shown to extend lifespan in laboratory mammals.
So that's a good thing... and that helps explain why people who follow the Mediterranean diet and eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink red wine tend to live longer, healthier lives.
So where did those outrageous claims come from? Well, they came from supplement marketers who took a little science and made a fantastic leap of faith.
You see, most of the studies on Resveratrol involved very low doses, about 10-30 mg. What these marketers said was this: "If 30 mg per day can add a year or two of healthy life, imagine what 500 mg or 1,000 mg or even 10,000 mg per day could do!"
So that's what they did. They started selling Resveratrol supplements in amounts far beyond what a person might get in a glass or two of wine, and then claiming life extension benefits of 20, 30 even 50 years!
I know! I know! It's crazy! And quite possibly dangerous.
So that's the background story on Resveratrol. Now let me tell you about my Resveratrol Red Wine product...
Each capsule contains 10 mg of trans-Resveratrol (the kind used in the studies) and 100 mg of red wine polyphenols. Three capsules per day gives you the health benefits of drinking a bottle of red wine—without the alcohol and without the expense.
And the only health claim I make about my product is this... Scientists know red wine is good for you, and my Resveratrol Red Wine supplement concentrates the "good for you part" in an easy to swallow capsule.
